VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
This training is designed to educate counselors on the process of how complaints made to the professional counseling board are handled. The session will walk participants through the entire lifecycle of a complaint, from its initial filing to the final resolution, with a focus on the specific procedures and protocols governing complaints within the context of a licensing or regulatory body. Counselors will learn the critical stages of the complaint process, including investigation, response, and potential outcomes.
The training will cover common ethical violations, misunderstandings, or professional missteps that lead to formal grievances, as well as the broader legal consequences these complaints may have for a counselor’s career and license.
Finally, counselors will learn effective strategies to protect themselves professionally throughout the complaint process. This includes maintaining thorough and accurate documentation, settingclear professional boundaries, and adhering to ethical and legal standards that reduce the likelihood of complaints. By the end of the training, counselors will be able to explain the complaint process, identify how to mitigate potential risks, and safeguard their professional reputation and licensing status.
