THIS WORKSHOP MEETS THE 30 HOURS REQUIRED FOR CPCS CERTIFICATION AND 12 HOURS REQUIRED FOR RECERTIFICATION!

This workshop will focus on the definition of supervision, review models and methods of supervision, and review a variety of roles that counselors balance during the supervision process and examine the supervisory relationship. Using case examples attendees will practice identifying this balance and the challenges they can pose.  Real life situations will be reviewed and examined to discuss a variety of challenges faced when supervisees present personal or interpersonal dilemmas during supervision.  Discussion will focus on how to resolve them using a strength-based approach. Guidance is shared for navigating dilemmas in a manner consistent with legal and ethical standards. Sample situations and categories include professionalism, documentation, tracking systems, fee schedules, structuring groups, liability / professional insurance, didactic work, reporting, handling legal situations / queries, and therapy for counselors. Discussion will include how and when to consult with colleagues, legal professionals, and/or the GA Board.

This workshop is in-person only and offers 6 SUPERVISION (Foundations) or 6 CORE Continuing Education Credits (6 CEs). NO VIRTUAL COMPONENT
