These workshops meet the requirements for certification as a CPCS. As well, it will update all individuals in the counseling profession on the latest law and upcoming changes to the rules towards full licensure. Due to the nature and importance of the information included, these workshops will only be held in-person. There is no virtual option. An emphasis will be placed on the definition & role of supervision, the structure of supervision, the supervisory relationship, methods and models of supervision, ALL documentation in supervision, supervision techniques, the CPCS code of ethics, discipline policies and improvement plans in supervision, evaluations, mechanics & techniques of virtual supervision, technology, creating an individual plan for supervision, and the application of all these workshops towards supervision. Finally, role plays and case scenarios will be included. The goal is to provide a competence in understanding the law as well as the rules, and assisting supervisees to meet all requirements toward full certification as a CPCS.

These IN PERSON workshops offer a total of the required 30 hours of SUPERVISION Continuing Education Credits (30 CEs).

Presenters:

Eric Rodgers, MA, LPC, NCC, CPCS, CMAC, BC-TMH, CAMFT, GCDF, BCC

Eric Rodgers is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor based in Georgia. He is the founder of Just For Men Behavioral Health, a private practice dedicated to male-centered therapy. Eric provides evidence-based, trauma-informed services tailored to the unique challenges faced by men and boys, including ADHD, social anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and identity development. His integrative approach draws from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and other evidence-based practices.

Carolyn A. Ramp, LPC, NCC, ACS, CPCS

Carolyn Ramp’s career in mental health spans over 30 years. Her experience includes outpatient clinical work in agencies, school systems, as well as building and managing a multi-specialty private practice of 18 therapists. She’s earned a master’s degree in 1993 and A Specialist’s Degree in Counseling in 2000. She was President of LPCAGA in 2019 -2020. Her specialties include Clinical Supervision for over 20 years, working with the families of the Personality Disordered, teaching parenting strategies as a Love and Logic Facilitator and she is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. She currently runs a consulting and supervision practice called CR Consulting in Augusta, GA.Angie Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in the state of Georgia. In 2021, Ms. Smith was appointed to the state of Georgia Composite Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists and currently serves as the chair of the Composite Board as well as the professional practices sub-committee of the board.   

GREGORY K. MOFFATT, Ph.D., LPC, CPCS

Gregory K. Moffatt, Ph.D., is the dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Point University, professor of Counseling Psychology, published author, licensed counselor, newspaper columnist, columnist for ACA's Counseling Today, and public speaker. He is the editor of the Georgia Journal of Professional Counseling and in February of 2022, Governor Kemp appointed Dr. Moffatt to the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists. Dr. Moffatt served for nearly ten years as a regular lecturer at the FBI Academy, a profiler with the Atlanta Cold Case Squad, and consultant to numerous airlines, businesses, and schools. He has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX news, as well as  America's Most Wanted and international television. He has served as personal consultant to Tyler Perry for the movie Alex Cross, consultant to producers for the new movie Head Full Of Ghosts, and most recently he can be seen on the Discovery Channel series Hostage.

Dr. Angie Smith, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, CPCS

Angie Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in the state of Georgia.  Ms. Smith is originally from Ohio where she received her Master’s degree from Xavier University.  Her primary focus in her career has been working with the severe and persistent mental health population in both inpatient and outpatient settings and psychiatric emergency and triage departments. Throughout her career, Ms. Smith has worked with a variety of clients and has extensive training and experience working with clients experiencing addiction issues, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.  Since moving to Georgia in 2015, Ms. Smith has worked with clients in an outpatient setting and taught counseling students at the graduate level.  She is also a grant reviewer for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Institutes of Health (NIH) and U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration.

Ms. Smith was appointed to the state of Georgia Composite Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists in 2021 and currently serves as the chair.  Ms. Smith is also a delegate to the Interstate Compact for Licensed Professional Counselors and serves on the rules committee and serves on the ethics committee for the American Counseling Association.
